Februaury Faves❤

Heyyy beauties! Here we go again with another monthly faves.WOW!Where did the month go?Like seriously…..It feels like January was just yesterday and the next thing I know,we are already at the end of Feb….Crazy huh!Anyway,I love doing monthly faves(so much fun)and showing you guys what fab products I’ve tried so far. There’s just something exciting about discovering and trying new products I can’t explain but I know my fellow beauty fanatics know exactly what I mean……LOL.Lets jump right in, shall we?

Lise Watier 24 Hrs Glam Mascara:So over the holidays,I got one of those mascara sample set where you get sample size of different mascaras to try and you return your certificate for a full-sized mascara of the one you liked the most. This mascara was included in my kit and was my fave among the bunch.I’m really glad I went with this because although it doesn’t give much volume, the spiky-looking brush sorta “lifts” the lashes and separates well.I would classify it a good natural-looking mascara. Can we also take a sec to talk about the packaging?Very eye-catching I know! Can’t go wrong with that◔◡◔ You can order the mascara here.

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipgloss in Nude Lustre:Revlon did good with the super lustrous glosses. At $6.00 each, they are a bargain,do stay on well and gives good color payoff.I currently own 5 of the shades and I’m totally hooked.(See swatches of 3 of the shades HERE)Seriously though,if you haven’t tried one of these glosses, you are SO missing out!I like to wear this peachy nude gloss on its own when I’m feeling lazy but want a pop of color on my lips or some days I layer over my bright lippies. It also makes a perfect everyday nude color.

CoverGirl Lip Perfection Lipstick in Spellbound:(See Swatch Below):Ah!Another lipstick I picked out on a whim while wandering down the beauty aisle as usual.(^_^) This is my second lipstick from CoverGirl and I’m starting to love this line of lipsticks.(I talked about CoverGirl’s Divine in my 10 best Drugstore Lipsticks)Nearly anyone can pull off this creamy blue-based pink lipstick.I think it looks much prettier paired with a sheer gloss and it stays on for nearly 4 hours which isn’t bad at all.One thing I noticed is they kind of stain your lips after they wear off so you’re still left with some color which is pretty cool.Don’t pass these lipsticks up ladies, not only are they fantastic but there’s a shade and color for everyone!

Maybelline Color Whisper in Oh La Lilac:The color whisper lipsticks from Maybelline is fairly new but so far, there’s been nothing but rave reviews on them. They go on quite sheer but you can layer on for more color payoff. They are quite similar to Revlon lip butters but I prefer the formula of ‘Whisper’ more as they feel lighter and much more softer on the lips.I’d say they are almost like a lipstick and gloss bunched up together.I picked out 4 of the colours from the collection but Oh La Lilac turned out to be my favorite.Looks so pretty paired with a magenta liner.

TIP:You can also layer these lipsticks over matte lipsticks to give you a bit of a glossy finish/creamy look and to keep your lips from getting too dry.

Covergirl+Olay Concealer Balm in Medium\Deep: Wow!What a great drugstore concealer!I admit when I first put this on,I expected it to crease like crazy on me but it totally proved me wrong. This stuff is rich & creamy, glides on like butter and gave me a smooth and flawless finish.Ohh..and it doesn’t smudge.Shame on me for jumping to conclusions!Coverage is medium to full depending on how you apply. It has excellent staying power as a high-end concealer and will cover up dark-circles.I guess it’s safe to say this is probably my fave drugstore concealer as all the other drugstore concealers I’ve tried  have been such a huge disappointment not to mention how most of the cosmetic companies “FORGET” to come out with darker shades for women of color.Anyways,so far so pleased.

E.l.f All Over Color Stick in Toasted:(See pic at the bottom of post)This multipurpose stick works wonders and its only a freakin’ $1.00!!I use this to mainly highlight my cheekbones and it gives such a nice glow you’re left wondering how and why its only a dollar! It looks like an expensive highlighter on the skin! It comes in a twist up tube which makes it easy to use and carry around for touch ups.Blending is effortless(I like to use my fingers)and I like that its not too shimmery because I wouldn’t wanna walk around looking like a disco ball. You can also use this on your eyes, nose, brow bone, lips etc. This little babe will look radiant on medium to dark skin tones. You can order this off the E.L.F  Website

Tarte Amazonian 12-hour Clay Blush in Flush: This is my first blush from Tarte and it really lives up to the hype.I’m in love with this blush and officially declare it my most fave product of the month. This looks so beautiful on the cheeks, blends effortlessly and theres no fallouts at all!I cannot wait to tryout some of the other shades when I go to Sephora next month. It is on the pricy side but it lasts a long time so you get what you pay for.I doubt it stays on for 12 hours as it begins to fade after about 4-5 hrs.All in all, its a great product and a great blush.Look how pigmented it looks in the pan!Score!

MAC Lustre Drops in Sun Rush:A late purchase but one that I definitely had to include in my Feb Faves.I don’t know what it is but I think I’m going through a highlighting/face-glow phase because I’ve been going nuts purchasing highlighters lately-eek.This has a become a staple in my foundation routine now.I use a drop of this with my(liquid)foundation for a nice and perfect all over glow. This product is like a liquid bronzer but very dewy and just gives a nice shimmery finish that doesn’t look over the top. Will surely buy this again if and when I ever run out!

Doll Notes:Have you tried any of these products?Thoughts?? What have you been loving lately?!

MAC Ruby Woo❤

Ruby Woo is one of MAC’s most coveted products and for the past week that’s all I’ve worn on my lips–which is rare for me matter-of-fact since I don’t wear red lipsticks twice in a row(like ever)I mean I have so many lipsticks and I’m more into “baby pink lips”so I try different shades all the time. But because I love this lipstick so much and because of its WOW factor and the fact that it’s universally flattering,I thought I’ll do a mini post on it for the ladies that are obsessed with red lips:) Ruby Woo is indeed that special red color that works on both warm, cool and neutral undertones.

As described by MAC on their site,Ruby Woo is a“very matte vivid blue red” It’s so much prettier in person than in swatches, believe me when I say pics don’t do it justice!I get a lip-gasm whenever I put this on..LOL..OK! Fine!I totally just made that up but you get what I mean right?!It’s classy and reminds me of an elegant woman like Coco Chanel BUT because of the long wearing formula(and the whole retro matte thing→meaning its drier than other matte MAC lipsticks),this can be drying on the lips so I always pair with a clear lip gloss.

Please note you’ll have to moisturize your lips well and/or apply some balm before putting this on.The color is opaque and doesn’t budge which is phenomenal and if you’d like to line & define your lips before applying, then go ahead darling–the neater the better.Click HERE to read a more detailed post on choosing the right red lipstick for your skintone if you aren’t really into matte formulas.

Perfect shadeNot too bright-Not too dull

Doll Notes: Just a fun fact ….Ruby Woo is Rihanna’s favorite Mac lipstick. That’s the red she always wears on the red carpet!Do you have a favorite Red lipstick? What are some of your recommendations?

Essence Cosmetics Give-Away!!!! (CLOSED)

Hey Dolls! I’m giving away 4 goody bags full of Essence Cosmetics + one lipstick of your choice from my 10 BEST DRUGSTORE LIPSTICKS!!! Head to my FACEBOOK page to see how you win

Read my review on Essence Cosmetics HERE.

Essence Cosmetics❤

Hey Dolls!!I’m here again with a review on a really exciting makeup brand with incredible prices ta-da...Essence Cosmetics!!!Essence is part of a German company/brand and they’ve got a ton of different products with so many colors and shades to choose from.I first discovered Essence at my Shoppers Drug Mart(Canadian)and I’ve been hooked on it ever since.Prior to this review,I already owned and use a few of their products and I’m totally impressed with the quality.Everything is such a bargain;from their eyeshadows to lipglosses to blushes, mascaras, liners and lipsticks there’s so much to play and fall in love with.

(Bubble Babe,Red Blossom,Timeless Beauty,Nude Candy)  *First pic is with flash and the second pic’s without*

Essence XXXL Shine Lipgloss:They go on quite sheer with just a hint of colour and they smell really nice.Even though they are loaded with shimmer,it’s very subtle and hardly noticeable.I also like the long doe foot applicator which ensures even application of product on the lips.My fave is Nude Candy which is creamy baby pink  and wears well with any lipstick. These lip-glosses are not sticky at all and are about $2 dollars + some change.WIN!

Ultimate Pink,Break Through,Lime Up,Walk On The Wild Side

Essence Colour & Go Nail Polishes:Let’s admit it ladies….we all know we rarely finish a full size bottle of nail polish so the size of these nail polishes are perfect. You get good cover with just one coat(but it’s always better to do two coats for even application)and application is easy as well.Awesome color range & finishes to choose from. They do dry quick and don’t chip too fast surprisingly.I’ve had Lime Up on my nails for over a week now and it’s still going strong. Just so you know, swatches are with no base or top coat.

John Lemon, Shrimp Me Up,Party All Night,Dance All Night, Black Goddess

Essence Eyeshadows:Gosh! The eye-shadows are my fave products from the brand.Good quality, great pigmentation,super-duper inexpensive-what’s not to love? These apply well but there’s a bit of fall outs with some of the shadows. Not a big deal in my opinion since they stay on pretty decent even without a base. They are available in shimmer/sparkling/metallic finishes.Highly highly recommend.(Shadows shown in the first row is without flash and swatches at the bottom is also without flash)

 Midnight In Paris

Essence Gel Eyeliner:Who doesn’t like a good creamy matte gel liner?I know I do.Long-wear gel liner, safe to wear on eye-lids and waterline. This is also a good base for eyeshadowss.I don’t have anything bad to say about this….I love all of Essence liners(pic below) They glide on easy and give the right amount of intensity.

Essence Liquid Eyeliner,Essence Eyeliner Pen,Essence Eye Pencil,Essence Powder Eyeliner & Shadow

PS:I’m not a big fan of the powder eyeliner & shadow–lacks pigmentation and it’s kinda chalky.Boooo:(

Another amazing product from Essence is their lipstick in Creamy Nude which you can read more about  in this post.

Doll Notes:Essence Cosmetics was kind enough to send me some of their products for review.I’m not being paid for this and all opinions are honest and my own.I’ll  also be giving away some products from the brand so follow me on FACEBOOK  to see how you can win :)

10 Best Drugstore Lipsticks❤

Hey Dolls!HAPPY NEW YEAR to each of you!I hope you’re all enjoying 2013 so far! There’s so much I’m grateful for and I hope you beauts take nothing for granted.I’ve really been loving the new beauty products the cosmetics companies are putting out lately.Trying my best to explore and review as many new products as I can so keep an eye out for a lot of upcoming product reviews on the site.Gosh….ever since putting up my 10 BEST DRUGSTORE MASCARAS,it’s been highly requested of me to do a post on my “10 best drugstore lipsticks”.So sorry it took a while but I’m really excited that I’m finally able to share this with you all…..thanks for being so patient❤

Here are 10 lippies that aren’t just pwetty and gorgeous on the lips but the shade range is suitable for all skin-tones as well.

Selection of neutral shades(for when you want a more natural look to blend with your makeup)to bold/bright shades(for dramatic and colorful looks)

L-R

Loreal’s Fairest Nude(800),Maybelline Warm Me Up(235),Maybelline Make Me Pink(135),Cover Girl’s Divine(330),Revlon’s Berry Haute(660),Revlon’s Primrose(668),Essence Creamy Nude(50),Rimmel Bordeaux(124),Wet n Wild Sugar Plum Fairy(908C),Wet n Wild Dollhouse Pink(967)

I’m not sure if you can tell from the swatches but the above lipsticks are all creamy and apply smoothly. The color payoff is Ah-mazing and they moisturize the lips very well. For the record, the bold colors are more long-lasting than the nudey(is that even a word?haha)ones and most of them can totally be worn on their own, topped with a gloss or paired with a lip-liner.(The Maybelline lipsticks seem to have shimmer in them when swatched but trust me they are not shimmery at all. They go on smooth and don’t dry out your lips either)You can get these lipsticks at most drugstores but Wet n Wild can be found at Walmart if you’re in Canada or you can order directly from their website.

QUICK TIPS:

—Always moisturize/exfoliate lips before applying lipsticks.Using a lip primer is a matter of personal preference but it prevents lipsticks from fading/ feathering.

—For more color payoff, you can layer lipsticks and blot with tissue. This prevents getting lipstick on your teeth and also helps it  last longer.

—Nude your lips out with concealer before applying lipstick so it brings out the true color of the lipstick especially if your lips are pigmented. This method can be used to tone down a bright color as well.

—If you’d like to tone down the color of a bright lipstick, you can do so by applying a nude lipstick or gloss over it.

—You can use a brighter/deeper lipstick shade like Rimmel’s Bordeaux and WnW Dollhouse Pink as cream blushes by swiping some color from the lipstick onto your index finger and applying to your cheeks making sure to blend out.(You can set it after with a powder blush if you want) Don’t forget to use clean fingers though:-0

—-Don’t sleep on lip brushes as they help to evenly distribute lipstick with no harsh lines.

Hope this was helpful dolls….

Until next time….take care=]]

Doll Notes:What are some of your fave drugstore lipsticks?…..Please share

Mens Fashion……….Camouflage❤

Hey everyone!! I finally have a post for ya!…..And…. it’s a mens fashion post on how to style camouflage pants this winter!! Interesting huh?!. Let’s just begin with an apology OK? A HUGE SORRY for the lonnnng delay in posts yet again…Life’s just been too hectic and crazy for me(new baby♡ and all) and I just haven’t been able to post as much as I’d like to.Nonetheless I hope all is well with you guys:)Also, feel free to follow me on FACEBOOK as I’m quite active on there:))

So moving on,Camouflage made such a huge comeback and has been a big trend this season. It’s functional and can be paired with pretty much anything from basics like plain t-shirts to denim, tailored blazers and even lace. The military trend is indeed back to stay and isn’t going anywhere for a long time. The bold pattern looks great on both sexes and I find it to be especially sexy on women who are confident and enough of a risk-taker to embrace the trend. Most of the popular retail stores like Zara now carry a lot of camo jackets, blazers, shirts, skirts, dresses etc and they are easily accessible now. Here’s one way to style the camo pants gentlemen:

  Sweater…………….H&M

  Camo Pants…………….Winners

  Vest…………….(GUESS)Winners

  Boots…………….(Polo Ralph Lauren)Winners

  Necklace & Bracelet………….Winners

  Toque…………..H&M

Doll Notes:What are your thoughts on the camouflage trend? Are you gonna try it? Leave a comment if you’d like to see a post on how I style a few of my camo pieces…

July Favourites❤

Hey Dolls!!! There are so many things I’m loving this summer but I’ve narrowed it down to the few goodies below for the month of July.I still can’t believe it’s August already!I don’t want summer to come to an end:( Nonetheless,I hope some of you will give the products mentioned a try because they are bomb! *Laughs*

Dove Dry Invigorating Shampoo:Since I don’t wash my hair everyday,I use this dry shampoo to refresh my hair and keep it clean between washes.Makes my hair feel fresh and it smells so good!I only wish you’re not left with an empty bottle after a couple of sprays. There doesn’t seem to be much product in the bottle…C’monnn DOVE…

Freeman Facial Clay Mask(Mint & Lemon):I recently got this at Walmart and  I love it so far. It’s a cheaper alternative to Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque(Review Here)which I live and swear by.The mask feels really good on and it helps shrink pores. Thanks to this product,I noticed my T-zone hasn’t been as oily.Great masque and highly recommend…Its under $3.00 too.

Korres Pomegranate Toner:This has got to be one of the best facial toners Ive tried.I really really really like it.It feels so gentle on the skin and removes excess dirt and oil after cleansing.I use this toner before applying moisturizer to refresh my skin.Overall my skin has cleared up a lot and I haven’t broken out at all.

MAC Boy Bait Cremesheen Glass: I’m not sure what  took me so long to get this perfect pinkish nude gloss but I haven’t been able to put it away since purchasing it.Its such a relief to carry around a gloss that goes so well over my pink and nude lipsticks and doesn’t stick on my lips.It looks so pretty on when worn alone as well.

Wet n Wild  Mega Last Lip Color in (968)Pinkerbell and (967)Dollhouse Pink: Ive been completely obsessing over these two lip shades! They are both gorgeous and super opaque!Pinkerbell is a pretty coral pink shade (sorry ladies.. my lighting makes the swatch look more on the pink side)and Dollouse Pink is a medium toned baby pink that’s almost comparable to MAC St.Germain.I wish the packaging wasn’t so cheap looking though and the formula can be drying on the lips so make sure to moisturize those lips well before applying. The price is amazing!

L’Oreal True Match Lumi Healthy Luminous Makeup: This foundation is quite new from L’Oreal. It has SPF of 20,provides moderate coverage and leaves your face looking all glowy! Its been my fave summer foundation and I love how it blends into the skin.If youre looking for something with a nice natural finish definitely check this out.My shade is Cocoa(c7-8).By the way,I’m glad there’s a shade for dark-skinned women as most drugstore foundations have a limited shade range.Kudos L’Oreal=)

Doll Notes:I hope you ladies enjoyed this post.Follow me on FACEBOOK to take part in my upcoming Give-Away!! Thanks!

Current Fave Summer Nail Polishes❤

Hey hey guys!I hope everyone is having a wonderful summer and enjoying the sun as I am=) Now we all know the season is all about bright  colours—the bolder the better and staying on trend with pretty pastels. Here are the nail polishes I can’t get enough of and been rocking the most(manicure/pedicure).By the way, just throwing this in.I hardly match my mani and pedi shade just because I love having varieties and doing something different and fun!And well…not to mention I’ve got way too many polishes to stick to one colour..LOL

Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear  in Coral Reef: I absolutely love Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear nail polishes. They are affordable and there’s a great color range to choose from.I’ll describe Coral Reef as a pretty coral pink that goes on quite opaque. It’s such a stand-out colour and applies easily.

Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Pacific Blue:One of my all time fave nail polish shade! This matte blue colour looks great on everyone and it stays on for days! No kidding dolls! It doesn’t chip at all and it’s so long wearing! Please pick this up on your next beauty trip because it’s  truly amazing and I don’t want any of you to miss out♥

Essie’s Fiji:I’m recently getting into Essie nail polishes and Fiji is one shade I’ve been drawn to lately. It’s a really pretty pastel baby pink.I get compliments everytime I have this shade on but admittedly,it’s not the easiest to apply. You have to be patient and need a steady hand to get it to be noticeable. It’s indeed such a classic feminine shade that will compliment most skin tones.Love it!

Essie’s Playdate:I’m in love with this gorgeous playful purple polish!2 coats of this leaves you with beautiful bold nails that demand attention.Must-have!

Essie’s Bikini So Teeny: (How cute is the name?!!)I have to say this has been my most fave summer nail polish.Essie describes it as a sparkling cornflower blue and I think it’s the perfect summer shade!I simply can’t get over how gorgeous the light blue shade looks on me  and how unique it is.I do get compliments when I have this on as well.I personally think Essie nail polishes are a bit over priced but this was money well spent..

Revlon Nail Enamel in Flirt:It’s a lovely a pink lavender shade that can be worn year round. It’s one of those girly shades that goes well with everything you wear and looks really pretty on both finger & toe nails.

(L-R)Sally Hansen Coral Reef,Sally Hansen Pacific Blue,Essie Fiji,Essie Playdate,Revlon Flirt,Essie Bikini So Teeny

Doll Notes:Have you tried any of these polishes?….What’s your fave nail polish brand?

April Favourites❤

Hey beauties!!It feels like forever since I last put up a post and I truly apologize for the lack of posts of late. There’s just a lot going on in my personal life and I never seem to find enough “me” time if you know what I mean. All the same,I hope you’re all doing marvelous and enjoying some sunshine❤ My fave items last month were:

Korres Pomegranate Lip Butter:I can’t get enough of this lip butter! It’s not sticky and not too sheer nor too heavy.I think the pigmentation is just great! It leaves a light tint of pink on my lips and keeps it moisturized for a while.I plan on getting the plum shade next.Such a great little product:)Worth checking out!

MAC Studio Fix Fluid(NW50):I prefer liquid foundations for the most part because its buildable and gives good coverage.Studio Fix Fluid is one of my fave foundations from MAC so far.The coverage is medium to full and it’s got SPF 15 which is a plus. The finish is matte and it’s pretty long-lasting but I find that using a primer before applying this foundation makes blending easier and makes it not appear too cakey.I usually set it with my MAC Mineralize Skin Finish which gives me flawless results everytime.

Simple Soothing Facial Toner: I think this toner is “OK”. It’s formulated for sensitive skin and feels very refreshing on the skin. Now the reason I said its “OK” is because  it’s not a bad product but it’s not great either. It claims to tone, tighten, smooth and soften skin but I don’t think it did much apart from feeling great on the skin.I do however like that it didn’t irritate my skin as it has no perfumes nor dyes in it and was gentle enough around my eye area.I’m not sure not sure ill re-purchase this though. You can find the whole “Simple skincare” line  at Walmart.

MAC 217  Blending Brush:A must- have!If you don’t have this brush I suggest you add it to your must have list cos its amazing! This multipurpose brush is a bit on the expensive side but worth every single penny. You can use it to apply your highlighter, concealer under eyes and even apply(cream)shadows. It’s soft and blends beautifully as well.In my opinion, this is one of the best brushes ever made!

Fantasia Hair Polisher:I’ve been using this polisher every other day after styling my hair to make it smooth and give it some shine. Its fab to use on chemically treated hair like mine and you can use on both wet or dry hair.It does a good job smoothing my hair and makes it soft. I got this at my local beauty supply store.

IsaDora Colorful Eyeliner(Black):My sweet sister got me this eyeliner when she went to Norway and I love it! The applicator is easy to work and gives you precise lines.Color pay-off  is incredible! I wish we had this brand in Canada as I’ve been told IsaDora makes great affordable  products.

Doll Notes:That will be it for now divas! What products have you been crazy about the past month?

La Roche Posay Effaclar K❤

Hey Dolls!Hope you’re all doing well! It’s been a bit over a month now since I started using this product and I wanted to review it for you guys because it deserves much praise. After months of hearing and reading rave reviews on La Roche-Posay Effaclar K(and the brand itself in general)I finally took the plunge and got myself a tube to try out.I have the standard oily t-zone as most of you know, with the rest of my face being dry so I was on the hunt for something that works really well to unclog pores, tighten skin without breaking me out and won’t dry my skin out either.

This product seems to do just that and more according to its claims(improve skin’s texture, unclog pores, protects against future breakouts and make complexion more radiant)and all the hype surrounding it.So,when I first started using it,I didn’t notice any drastic change but I also didn’t want to stop using it since I spent $31.00 on a 30 ml tube and wasn’t gonna let it go to waste lol.It says to apply morning and or evening but I mainly apply to my entire face in the mornings.Infact it’s all I’ve worn under my makeup lately since it’s lightweight and makes a perfect makeup base.

Anyhoos,I’m glad I stuck with it a little longer as I started seeing results in two weeks! My skin’s now looking so much better and smoother and I’ve seen improvement overall which makes me very very happy.I’m now excited to try other products from La Roche-Posay.If you’re looking to clear your skin up a bit,I hope you give this a try.I promise you won’t be disappointed=))

Doll Notes:Has anyone tried any other product from La Roche-Posay?How was your experience?
