My Skincare Routine❤

(L-R) Lise Watier HydraSmart Cleanser, Marcelle Daily Purifying Exfoliating Gel,Queen Helene Oatmeal ‘n’ Honey Scrub,Neutrogena Alcohol-Free Toner and Aveeno Nourishing Moisturizer SPF 30.

When it comes to skin care, I believe less is more. I’ve always been interested in knowing what works for my skin because I don’t see the point of wearing makeup when underneath all that you have very bad skin that’s not well taken care of. My regimen is quite simple and the 5 steps below tells it all.Let’s get started:]

WHAT I USE TO:

CLEANSE:I use Lise Watier HydraSmart Cleanser. It’s a self foaming cleanser that contains antioxidant blue lotus extract and moisturizing peptides. It  has a nice smell to it(I’m really picky when it comes to smells)and a soap free formula. It takes off most of my makeup and leaves my skin feeling hydrated.I use this daily in the morning and sometimes when I’m not too lazy I’ll use it at night.I never ever go to bed with makeup on(leaving makeup on overnight clogs pores and can irritate skin…say no to pimples!)I use makeup remover wipes most of the time to take  my makeup off. This cleanser is great for normal to combination skin.

EXFOLIATE:For about the past 8 months,I’ve been using Marcelle’s Daily Purifying Exfoliating Gel and I really like it.It’s made for acne prone skin and its so gentle on your face.It tightens pores and refines skin’s texture. I exfoliate once or twice a week depending on the “condition “of my skin.

SCRUB: I use Queen Helene Oatmeal ‘n’ Honey Natural Facial Scrub to remove dullness on my skin. This scrub is very gentle compared to other scrubs I’ve used in the past.My skin looks fresh and healthy and love how my face feels so smooth when I touch it after  scrubbing.I do rotate between the scrub and the Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque which is my favourite masque of all time.Usually use the scrub/ masque about 3 times a week.

TONE: This step is completely optional but I use Neutrogena Alcohol-Free Toner almost everyday.I have tried tons of cleansers in the past and no matter what they claim to do or how good they are,I personally feel like it’s a good thing to follow up with a toner in addition as it takes off the little bit of makeup/residue left after cleansing. What I like about this toner is it doesn’t strip off the skin’s natural moisturizers and it doesn’t sting either. To apply I use  a thin cotton pad.I use this daily right after cleansing and before I apply my moisturizer.

MOISTURIZE: My last step is using Aveeno’s Nourishing Moisturizer with vitamins/A,C & E and SPF 30 on my face and neck. I ‘m still looking for a “fave” moisturizer so I keep switching constantly( which is not a good thing) but I just haven’t found one that will ”wow” my skin. Not to say this is not a good product because it is but I wished the consistency was a bit more light. However,it does a good job conditioning the skin and protects it from the sun’s harmful UVA/UVB rays.

TIP : As much as I like experimenting with makeup and painting people’s faces, I DON’T wear makeup everyday. Its good to let your face breathe sometimes. A fresh and natural face helps maintain your skin.

**Please note that we are all have different skin types and what works for me not necessarily work for  you. When you’re trying new products its important to give it at lease 2/ 3 weeks to see results (unless you  start breaking out right away then it’ll be better to stop using the product) and to document the changes, take a pic before you start a skin care regimen and compare it to the current state of your skin. Try to find out what works best for you and stick to it.

**You can find these products in most drugstores and beauty supply stores.

Doll Notes: Taking care of my skin has always been important to me . I’m in no way a skin care expert or specialist but I believe the secret to aging gracefully is living a healthy lifestyle (Eating healthy, exercising and having good skin). I have dry sensitive skin and this is my skin care routine and what works for me. I would love if you shared yours !
